I have cut all day on some species, and one tank in others before the chain needed to be sharpened. Depends on the wood

Camera angle can be everything ...............
Never had anything break off or curl over yet

Hey, I got me one of those banana charged 261's and a whole reel of PS.... hmmmm, even have a log. Double hmmmm. I even have me a real nice loop of square-filed PS3 with the bumpers ground off...... Triple hmmm.

    2nd cut of PS3..

    Yep, that's the loop.

Why thank you sir.. I like mine a lot!! ;)

Both the PS and PS3 were brand new and untouched. Both came from members here that spun them, themselves.

I'd be willing to do that. As I have a hand square filed 3/8" loop I still have to test.

I know the results are skewed. Even had a couple PM's telling me my videos were wrong or I had somehow mixed stuff up. (I say the name of the chain at the end of every video, then name the video the name of the chain, and edit the length of the video). I tend to be a little OCD/Anal about stuff like this.

Here are the times of each cut (x2) that I came up with.

Sorry it took all day. I am trying to spend more time with my family, and only respond to PM's or Staff related duties.

And for the record. All the chains felt good. And after watching the video? I applied quite a bit of pressure and didn't keep the saw in a very good RPM range. Pushing on a 70 or 80 cc saw and grabbing a 50 cc are world's apart. LOL.. :)

So you got about the same results as someone a while back had.
    Think their test was 3/8 - RS3 , RM & RS
The RS3 safety chain was the fastest .

I found the LPX (has the safety hump link) to be as fast as the LGX,
No stop watch, just don't notice the difference between the 2 when cutting.
I can still use the nose of the bar fine too.

Results are results, you had the saw and did your best. I feel bad that those rakers arent lower. How do you measure your rakers Dex ? I lay a flat edge across 2 teeth and let the micrometer tell me the depth. I would ask that you set to .030 with that method. If you are more comfy with another way of measuring, please describe it for me.

It took time to do these tests, it took effort to put the video together, dont let PM's get to you, you did a fine job !!

Does anyone make a .325" .058" low profile chain? VP is all .050" and not so familiar with the Stihl offerings.

I've been running the ps3 on my Ryobi saws since it came out. I just recently realized they make it without the bumpers in PS.

The ps3 has been great, but its a little surprising that its faster than its non-safety counterpart. Kinda goes against everything we've been led to believe on the forums.

    I like it!

    It'll work a saw hard...
I'm not sure if I ever got to see it running on the MM261...

It does fight back pretty hard. Anything over 8" of wood and the 7 pin is faster. It's only seen maybe a dozen runs through clean and soft wood.

What were your findings with that loop? I don't remember if you tested it against anything or not...
    Too many chains...
    Too many #'s...

I have never done anything like a real chain comparison with it. I REALLY need to get some files so I can touch it up when it needs it.

I always liked PM before PS/PS3 came along. The performance difference is electrifying however.
