I've started on a new mega cube.

This is two of the big rounds I've posted pics of, along with three normal 24" rounds.

The middle stack is built to the height I'll add 4 stickers across all three stacks one they're there.

When I'm done with this one it will be plenty of wood for a hard winter between the two; in a couple years of course.

This hobby is too much fun, and it pays huge dividends. Good times!

I spend as much time admiring them as I do making them.

I feel like in order to truly succeed at avoiding the gas man you have to truly enjoy it. I'm sure many here feel the same way.

That should be wood for 16/17. That's assuming I can get enough ash this winter for 15/16.

Best to like it as you say. We're in our 70's and still enjoy it but the work keeps getting harder.

What do you mean? The stack is only 11'6" off the ground in the center.

Getting there. The new stuff is more oak from the same huge tree. I've been splitting the wood with my uncle. Probably two cords left to get. 20141228_122111.jpg 20141228_122144.jpg 20141228_122217.jpg

This summer get yourself a lawn chair, a :dennis: and a  and just sit back, admire your own work while listening to the wood dry! Dang man, that's some beautiful work!.

Looking good Pyro! Wood cubes are near and dear to my heart! I'm eventually going to start stacking mine around 7-8' tall because I'm running out of space on my property!

Got enough rounds already to finish this and build a third, plus all winter to cut. Need some ash now for next year so this can sit at least two years.

    Nice end cribbing.
Would fall over on me though
any taller and you'd have eagles, ospreys and storks nesting on it :picard:
