That sounds like a real winner. What kind of trees are they?

I just started this afternoon but delayed as my chain on my saw wasnt holding up. I had it sharp but it wasnt cutting like I like so I hand sharpened it and it cut good for a coupe cuts then went bad again . I am thnking the temper is bad maybe I got it too hot last time I used it or something.

The first place I started was a ditch as it had some good red oak laying in the ditch as a huge limb had fallen off a big tree and the road guys just shoved it in the ditch.
Man cutting in a ditch is a pain. Then did some limb clean up and including the delay on the bad chain I didnt get much cut.

    There is alway tomorrow.

The property I am cutting was logged for a lake and house to be built, new neighbors across the road from me. I am just cleaning up some stuff they left as they stripped that woods pretty good for the lake.

I can travel down the road when I get this stuff cleaned up to a another woods they logged. I think across the road from me will keep me busy this winter.

I mostly quit cutting in the ditch now. After slipping and hurting an already hurting back, that was enough to stop me. I think it has been 10 years or more now since we cut in a ditch.

See the big tree where the big branch came out.
Neighbor is getting the power company to come out and drop that tree.
I will be getting all that wood.

You can see in this pic how thin the woods is as its been logged clean and a lake dug.
This is taken from my front yard.

Looks like you've been working hard, nice job! I don't like cutting on steep slopes/ditches. Especially when it's wet out. Awesome score on getting that red oak when the power company takes it down :dex::pete:

Very nice! I was expecting to see some small top branches - you've got some nice sized wood there - congrats and good luck with getting it all done! Cheers!

Ground froze up enough to haul some wood across the street.
