Went back for the big ash stump from last week, and a small cherry that was nearby. Had to noodle this round: Grabbed another ash as well. This one came down in the wind storm a few weeks ago. I wanted to test out the 55 with a couple different chains - liked the full chisel the best. Got a pretty full load out of it. Got a couple cords worth in the log pile now I think. Ill probably split and stack this on my Christmas break, to replace the stack of ash I'm bringing up to the porch next.
The 385 is friggin awesome! Like a light saber. I'm a little underwhelmed by the 55 though - I think the Echo has more power. Well I may be going the Stihl route next. I really like the inboard clutch on the 385, but they put outboard on anything under a 372 I hear. I'm thinking about a 036/360 for a mid size saw.
Good catch, Shawn. Should make for easy splitting. Ash is just one of those great all-around species. Love the stuff.
