Got the chains Hedge, thanks !! That was alot to do, running them, keeping track of who's chain is who's, times, not nicking the cutters, not getting cut, sending them back, etc..... I just want to say thanks !!

As mentioned. There are several plastic cased (non-pro) saws that would absolutely fill your needs at MUCH less $$$. Don't overlook these options. For example, I bought my wife a Stihl 250C-BE and it is a GREAT saw. She can totally handle the saw once it is started, but lacks the upper body strength to deal starting my old MS260 without deco valve. A good plastic case can be as good or better than a metal case pro saw.

Good deal, since you saved so much money send the wife down to buy a 660, bite the bullet on a big saw today.

I'm sure I saw some Dolmar in the Massena store.

My wife started talking about a tractor about three weeks ago, I'm thinking that's around two or three years down the road if things stay the same.

Sell the saws you have, save your dimes. Your looking for a pro saw, that kind of CC's for a decent price is $$.

Took me years to buy a pro saw and I have never looked back. My MS 362C was expensive but every time I pull the cord itshalf the work.

Have you seen the prices on these. I don't think I have paid more than $350 for a saw. That is why I am having such a hard time when I look at pro saws!:( Plus I'm not a pro. :emb:

I'm with Dave your asking for a high CC saw, it only hurts till Ya run it !!

Echo might meet your needs, look around for a demo day if they are available in your area and try one.

Well. I will probably cut about 9-10 cord for myself. I will be cutting that again to sell though. I don't really know what I will get cut in two weeks. Maybe if everything goes well and I don't get too much other stuff to do I will cut 6-7 cord over the two weeks. I need and want to spend time with the wife and kids too. Fun and great time of the year with them!

The Echo CS-590 is bar far the best value out there right now, 60 cc for $399 with 5 year warranty. It will bury a Stihl MS290/291 and save you$$$.

I have ms250 with 18 inch bars and that I use on the smaller stuff and their price can't be beat! Although my 261 is king in my woods!

Stihl 60cc, MS36x (I have an MS361) saws are absolutely GREAT for a single saw for the average firewooder. It pulls a 20+" B&C with ease in the hardest of hardwoods, which means it can deal with 40+" diameter hardwoods in two cuts when necessary. The weight is very easy to handle all day long. I have a ported MS461, it's friggin' awesome:dex::dex::dex:, but it's weight is noticeably more than the 361 which I find is perfect. I recently bucked up a 30+" white oak with my ms361, no problems what so ever. This is the one saw I would keep if could only keep one saw. I assume that any other good quality 60 cc saw would give similar perform, so please don't underestimate local dealer knowledge and service.
