I cut and split this oak in in late March / early April and stacked it in my shed late April. Figured I split a couple pieces open today and was pleasantly surprised.
Scotty, to be honest I don't remember. Some of it came from my yard and some came from a tree service buddy that dropped off some logs.

Well at any rate if you tested a fresh split piece and got a 14% reading, that's superb firewood there....fantastic!
2 cords or so of the wood shed is oak I think but probably 15 or so that I still have to cut and split. I threw a few splits in the boiler tonight and it burned fine.
Yeah, that is just a rough guess. I'm clearing the back of my lot for my garden and a bunch of mature oaks along with a few cherries and a couple of maples have to go. Unfortunately none of the plentiful shag barks that are on my lot are in my way. That, along with free wood that I can't say no to should be a few years worth.
That's awesome. I cracked open some oak rounds not long ago that have been sitting for around a year and was amazed to see them reading around 25% or a little over on the MM. Not bad at all for not even being split yet
Most likely. Oak doesn't take as long to dry down here as other parts of the country. Lots of very hot sunny days in GA that are great for drying wood
That's really cool, .... and surprising. The only way I ever got oak that low a MC around here was stacked 4 years. They were 6" splits.
