Good account told me today...he was confirmed with NEWP for 4 trucks of pellets in the 1st quarter... 1 in Jan...1 in Feb and 2 in March........except he used 16 last year and was expecting to only get 8 this year....was a tad surprised when they would only confirm 4.....
SOOOO I guess in his area there is still a restricted supply...since PROPAIN wants to bust my stones if I dare say ...the "S" word, I will only use the letter as the code for it.

When a dealer and then his customer "who I refer to as retail" can't get all they want of whatever brand they want...then I consider that to be a "S"

Now you have to understand, I sell and ship product 6 days a week....so somebody is getting product most all the time....somewhere, just everyone, not with all they want. When I refer to a "S" in the market, I'm meaning that we can't (or other manufactures) can't supply all the demand at a given time. I can ship 100 tons to someone Monday-Thursday, but if he is sold out of those by Friday noon and has nothing to sell for the weekend....and the other dealers around him are in the same boat....that to me and I think most others would qualify as a "S"......well maybe not in PROPAINS eyes, but for the rest of us that would. Their next shipment, might not be for a week or 10 days later and in the meantime they are out ...I'm pretty sure they consider it to be....cause they are missing business and the retail client can't get what they want.....

NEWP isn't supplying all their dealers cause they want to see how much their storage yards can hold.....they have to allocate (just like us) simply because they can't meet all their demand...regardless of whether it goes thru them (speciality stores or the big boxes)...they still can't fill all the orders they could take IF they had the product to do it with......maybe some areas are better supplied that others in NE right now....but for the most part, my dealers are either out or very low and when they do get supply in, it doesn't last very long....and it's not even that cold out there yet....if we get just even a bit of an extended winter like we did last year, you will see a repeat of the lines looking for pellets....maybe not as long...but for the most part, they will still be there.

Here wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas or whatever you celebrate this time of year....heres to your health and happiness....

Dealer pellet shortage does not equal customer pellet shortage.

PS: Robbins had a pallet of pellets outside again today with a for sale sign.....

Not if you want one of the other 15 brands they carry and are out of those...then you have a shortage.....If the dealer can't get 'em...then his customer can't get 'em.....that probably meets the definition of a shortage...even if its short term....

JustWood....at least one person gets my sense of humor on here.....my work is done...!!

Naw, they need to know how many pellets they can stack in their yard before the ground drops down.

Well if that's your definition that's your definition. But when I go to the grocery strore to get milk and they don't have Hood but a hundred gallons of Garelick Farms, I don't start running around telling everine there is a milk shortage....
