Those two dead White Pine I took down had been dead for a couple years at least. When I blocked it up I kept the blocks from the top half and put them under the porch to burn with this years BTUs. The larger ones from the bottom half of the two trees I dumped in the processing pile to be split and stacked for next seasons BTUs. I have three more of these on the other end of the yard inside the fence as well. Not bad moisture content on the top half for just felling it!
Gotta love when it's in the yard. I just got a nice maple, mostly dead, that I can cut down in the neighbors yard. I asked your not in a hurry cause with me I might be tomorrow or 6 months hard to say sometimes. They said no problem. I got awesome neighbors. Mostly.
Have a small amount of Eastern White Pine that I split less than a year ago. Been using it as a mix in wood at startup. Gets the heat and coal bed up quick then the hard woods take over. Good stuff to have on hand. Good deal Gas-
