Yes way harder to hold point of aim DA.

And 9 accurate .22 is better than nothing or 6, .357 or .44mag just blasted all over the place.

I think a .22mag would be a better compromise which will have like 2-3x the energy of the .22lr but still be manageable in recoil in a heavy revolver.

I don't have much use for a .22 mag handgun, but I'm hoping to get a .357 mag revolver next year and get her used to shooting .38's out of it.

I have a Rossi .357. Its basically a K frame size. Its pretty heavy and .38s in it are not bad.

Rossi is the more budget line of Taurus. Made by Taurus. The revolver looks good to me, I like it and think I paid like $235 or so for it. Its got a 2.5" barrel and is 6shot

I'm thinking something with a 6" barrel that'll add some heft for her and then I can hunt deer with it legally too.

I didn't know Rossi was owned by Taurus, I'm on the lookout for a Rossi .357 lever action at the moment. From what I understand their lever action quality is better than Marlin since Remington bought them out.

Yes I think the Lever Rossi are made in a rossi factory. The rossi revolvers actually are made in brazil at the taurus factory.

Rossi long guns are made in US right? I know some of the taurus pistols are US made.

I would LOVE to find an older Marlin, but people are asking premium prices right now for those. Ohio just passed laws allowing us to use straight cartridge rifles for deer (used to be shotgun only) which I think has driven prices up. Hopefully they'll settle down some now that deer gun season is over.

So does that mean a 45/70 is fair game? Thats straight wall right?

I paid $100 about 2 years ago for mine, but I did buy it from my cousin

Buy online and shipped if your local area has crazy prices

$100 is a steal!!! I think the last pre-Remington .357mag Marlin lever action I saw on Armslist was posted for $700, they're around $600 new but the older are more desirable.

Yeah, 45/70 is legal. I should clarify though that most straight walled cartridges are legal, but not all. For instance, we can use .38 special and .45 ACP, but not 9mm or .40 S&W or 10mm Auto.

I find it ridiculous that .38 Special is legal, but a 10 mm isn't!!

9mm and 40 and 10mm are tapored cases right? I 100% know 9mm is tapered.

    .380 is straight walled

    I don't think the 40 or 10mm is tapered.

Look under the rounds it is listed for each. Copy and pasted from a gun site.

OK I read the Ohio rules again. I think the 10mm etc are allowed. Only in handguns. I was worried about my friend and his new 10mm earlier.

    Handgun
: with 5-inch minimum length barrel, using straight-walled cartridges .357 caliber or larger.

    This one was for rifles.

    Straight-walled cartridge rifles in the following calibers: .357 Magnum, .357 Maximum, .38 Special, .375 Super Magnum, .375 Winchester, .38-55, .41 Long Colt, .41 Magnum, .44 Special, .44 Magnum, .444 Marlin, .45 ACP, .45 Colt, .45 Long Colt, .45 Winchester Magnum, .45 Smith & Wesson, .454 Cassull, .460 Smith & Wesson, .45-70, .45-90, .45-110, .475 Linebaugh, .50-70, .50-90, .50-100, .50-110, and .500 Smith & Wesson.
