Nice load. I thought about building sides for my wood hauler, but would probably bust the springs if I did, as I load it more. I used to have two W350's, a SRW and a DRW. I miss them two old work horse dodges!
Yeah, probably not as useful on a 1/2 ton, but nice for peace of mind for keeping stuff in. No need for straps or anything. I've had a little over 3/4 cord of dry oak in there and it hauled it just fine. This is my first truck over a 1/2 ton and I'm liking it
If all goes well and I don't get a call from work tomorrow (later today, being on call) I'll have the new 2500HD dodge work truck and trailer loaded up with 2cord.....
Wrenchguy11 We gotta get one of these! Talk about making quick work of it (well, at least getting it home.)
My thoughts exactly!! I scraped just over 30 trucks back in the winter of 2011, when the price of scrap was a lot higher. Figured when this truck dies it will go to the scrap yard and I will make some money on it,
It'll certainly burn better than snowballs!! I know a couple guys that won't even consider cutting poplar or cottonwood,,I throw any/every thing I can cut on my truck,,except willow,,I won't cut any willow.
PRICELESS!! I can still remember when my cool ol' "Uncle Harry" started putting me behind the wheel of his '68 Chevy,,3 on the tree, I was maybe 12 at the time. I'll never forget it.
Yea for saw races , "race cants". A cant is a log thats been squared and ready to saw boards from. They cut them as a squared log before its cut into boards.
bigbarf48 I would suggest you run some boards across at the same places to protect your back window. I did when I built mine and it is really nice to not have to worry about breaking it. I can just toss away. I will see if I can find that thread I made about building them. C.R.S. kicking in for some reason.
