Holy frickin wind got to use the saw tonight.

My tree in the front got obliterated in the currently 70+ mile an hour winds. One of the branches landed on our phone line and almost took it out along with the porch roof. I had to get the saw out and cut it down in the heavy winds. For once I really didn't like using the saw. The wind is so strong it almost blew the saw outta my hands ! Its hard to see and is a lot bigger than it looks.what you see is about 1/4 of it.

After tonight I think I am gonna have to take the poor tree down. The top just got ripped right out of it.

 

We are getting hammered right now TW. Our giant maple is moving a good 15 ft side to side and cracking loudly !

 

Thanks Matt we are just sitting her fingers crossed. There isn't anywhere safer to go right now.......

Had a bunch of wind here and couple tornado warnings. Wind is still a sustained 20-30 mph with gusts in the 40-60 range. We just had a wave go by that was pretty bad. Been dark, so can't see the damage.

Stay safe, it's supposed to get better as the night goes on, but better to be prepared and ready for whatever the situation calls for

 

We are riding out the first wave of the storm ( 3rd storm cell tonight ) right now. The bad part is yet to come ! I hope all you guys are safe.

When I drove over the road I had my 48000 pound truck picked up and slid across the freeway in Iowa.that is some scary stuff. It's down right freaky when you have no control of your vehicle and nothing you can do but go for the ride.....

 

The porch is good HD but it would have been history if I hadn't cut the tree out of the way. It is so windy my helmet and glasses literally BLEW off. We looked for 15 minutes before we found the glasses. As soon as we found them we went inside I left the tree limbs all over on the ground.

Edit. You remember that big honking Maple by my drive HD ? It's swinging a good 15 ft side to side right now. It's been like that for over 2 hours now. That tree could easily destroy our house.

 

O man we just lost more of the tree. We love the shade it gives the porch in the summer.

 

I gotta tell ya Locust we haven't seen a storm this strong in 7 years. It wouldn't be so bad except its just one after the other today. Earlier today I took a nap to get rid of a headache and woke up to wham bam boom lights flickering and the tv turned itself on. Just a weird storm all around.
