Just for chits and giggles I pulled up the AWF hardwood test you did
    Hardwoods burned hotter 300- 370 vs 280 - 350
they had more ash 19 oz vs 10 oz
but they cost $75 / ton less what could you do with an extra $75 bucks :drunk:

Well, you could buy LOTS of blue smoothies with the extra cash!

I actually had the stove cranking last night to try and get the high burn reading, it was 80 degrees in the house lol...I was actually surprised it only went to 350. I also grabbed my other thermometer because I thought something might have not been right but I basically got the same high burn reading.

Just grabbed a half dozen bags of these to try. Next time the temps drop I'll clean the stove and try them.

Thanks, we never know what HD will bring in next. It is good to have a reference should any show up this way. Sub and I jump right on any new brands that have potential.

I burned quite a bit of the AWF (hardwood?) that HD had last year. Very nice pellet that I'd buy again in a minute. If these are as good or better, I wouldn't hesitate.

Some of the boxes have them IIRC they are fetching $269/ton. I'd bite on them if I needed cold spell stuff.

IMHO it's harder to compress the pine without changing dies. You will loss density and kill the heat. But they are jumping in for the cleanliness from what I gathered. Hopefully they will get that to compete with the CA softies, They will need to compress them more.

They'll have a hard time against those LaCrete's...those things killed with heat!!!!!! The others were good too but those "went to 11" lol ( little Spinal Tap humor)

TSC in Milbury has many tons of these. They smell exactly like Vermonts to me, only they are much lighter in color. First bag going in as soon as the hopper's empty.

Oh, almost forgot - TSC just dropped their prices. Hardwood $5.19 / Softwood $4.99 - Sweet!
