So true, esp. this tme of year. I have a handicap marker, but still can't find a place most times. I grumble when I see young people getting out of cars with handicap plates. They put out their cigaretts, then rush into the store. If they are handicapped, it is well hidden.
I am not handicapped have no sticker & would never dream of parking in one (like a see everyday) because 1. Its a scumbag move 2. In back of my mind i know my parents would beat the hell out if my 41 yr old aZz.
My sister is handicapped, contracted meningitis when she was born. She is 90% blind, and is severely limited mentally, and walks with a considerable limp. She has a handicap sticker but my Mother never used it, because she always felt there may be someone worse off that needs the spot. It absolutely infuriates me when I see the spots being abused. Especially when the able bodied person is driving the handicapped individual around and uses the spot so they, the driver can run in to the store real quick, by themselves, probably for themselves. I used to confront some of these people, but have found as you would expect that these people are beyond reason and it is just not worth the effort.
They must hand them out to whoever asks. This is a true story, someone I know has one. I seen her one day run, literally run, through a parking lot and up a steep hill on her hands and knees like she was trying to win a Spartan race. Just to get the attention of her husband who was driving away. Unbelievable!!
I believe you just apply for it here in PA and they send you a placard....just like giving out candy.
In Maine a doctor has to sign off on the application, then DMV issues it. My MIL had one, some asswipe started in on my wife (MIL no longer drove) as she stepped out from around the car, man did he ever get it from some folks when mom got around the car with her walker.
Trying to steer this thread back on track. HD today at somewhere around 140 tons, mostly MWP on the grounds in their cage area. They may have had more since they usually keep them out back. Also, the TSC in Millbury looked to have even more when I did a drive by last Friday (couldn't stop, had wife and baby in car). Price at HD was 5.19 a bag. No shortage at the boxes yet.
We're starting to see some piles slowly building back up near me. I haven't done a full swing of em all, Yet!!
The boxes here were out of stock for a few weeks but now it's starting to show back up again. It'll be funny if there's going to a pellet buying slow down and then this turns into excess inventory....sort of.
Well, I had a feeling around December the pellets would start to build up. I believe Dougie said I would be wrong....but it certainly seems like i was right. The shortage never was except for the dealers.
Saw one in the spring of 2008. A pellet house near me ordered lots and then lots more. Well he had a major stack in April. I still got them Hamers in my stash. Stolen at $239/ton!!
