Cutting down an ash at the golf course this morning. 50 degrees-no snow-broke a record for the tempature, should be 10 deg and 2 feet of snow. What a life,chain sawing,coffie,the crew filling my trailer and I mean a big trailer with 20 inch pieces of wood I cut up whilst being paid. More photos coming soon, well back to ?work.
An absolute horrer here in Minnesota we have a bug called the emerld ash borer and it is killing them all.
Looks like the same weather we been having lately here in N.E. Iowa. Warm and fog. This too will change. EAB made it's way to my neck of the woods this year also. I treated a bunch of ash for home owners this spring but I don't have much confidence it will do any good in the long run.
Yah... first it was the dutch elm disease took out almost all our giant trees now this Emerald ash hore and NOW I here something is coming out of the western states going to kill the pines.

Welcome to the crowd Don. Today I cut 3 ash trees. We've had the borer since 2002 and all our trees have been dead for quite some time. Most of them now are rotting at the root and then tipping over. Hard to keep up with them but we're trying.
I've had a few times on the golf course, I've dreamed of this : wishing one of the tools in the golf bag was a chain saw . LOL
