The washer was making some awful noises so I replaced the belts. Made my clothes washing wife happy.

Don't know. It isn't very far down yet this year though. Been pretty mild temps so far.

Trying out Jango and getting a Goodwill trip together. Enjoying an evening without people. Been busy lately with all the holiday stuff going on. It is nice to decompress. I need a vacation from the holidays.

So after some more head scratching with healthcare.gov found out that the deductibles on certain plans are adjusted for lower income folks.
Had the site not locked up twice during the initial info entering phase I'd give it a decent grade, and if the help line didn't hang up on you:mad:

Of course after I had everything done and clicked the whole "if your income goes down you could qualify for more and if your income goes up you may owe more" disclaimer....

She tells me they are going to offer her the manager job at the Grocery store:headbang:
Her manager gave notice last week and the boss man asked the manager if my GF would want it - so hopefully she gets a raise and will have more hours(45 vs 38) but now I've explained all the info I put in the website will be completely wrong and she'll owe come tax time.

I can't tell you the extent to which I can commisserate. I have too much to say here :zip:. Our premiums have tripled, and out of pocket (Lil ones see docs frequently, and I have several specialty docs I need to see) is like 100x.

I think everyone's premiums, not to mention deductibles(big time) are up. some of the policies they offered were insane.
My employer self insures and I jumped into the high deductible w/HSA last year, it makes total sense for me.
Over the past few years all the policies offered at work have seen substantial deductible and out of pocket max increases with marginal premium increases....

It seems to me that is the avenue the insurance agencies are driving - HSA's, pay for your care when you need modest stuff, and when it becomes catastrophic the coverage kicks in - sucks for folks that need regular health maintenance though.

Sounds like the least expensive way out. Sort of like having high deductibles. Good for catastrophic cost. Which is almost anything when you spend more than one night in the hospital nowadays!

But those deductibles when you add a spouse and family get pretty high, me (technically single guy) it's manageable, I ran numbers for several coworkers just to get them off the bandwagon 90/10 plans and when you add a family to the high deductible you better plan on 8-10k set aside...unless you just make interest free minimal payments(something I don't agree with)

I here ya. I know guys with really good jobs with good benefits. It did not have anything to do with the latest insurance stuff. It was in place before that. They basically have great coverage, but the deductible is almost $4000 a year. But if you look at what things cost, it does not take long to get to the $4,000. When one of them told me that, I said-"What? $4,000 deductible.?" Yup. If you and your family are healthy and you have no problems then it is expensive. But just one thing goes wrong, and it now becomes a very good, inexpensive plan. :picard:Insurance, medical, government=$.:picard:

Had a few last night at the Christmas Party. Just a few though, didn't over do it. But I can't seem to want to get moving very fast this morning. Oh well. I need a little relaxation. It is Sunday morning, so I need to wait for a little while to run the saw. I like to give the neighbors a couple extra hours in the morning on Sunday before I start making any noise. So I am hoping to go out and cut some wood later. Take my time and enjoy it. But first I have to go down to the camp and give the pellet stove a real good cleaning and get that running again. Then I will be able to go out in the woods. Hopefully lunch at camp! It is really beautiful out with the snow.

I rebuilt the carb, new fuel line and filter on my 025 early this morning. Made slight adjustments on the carb and it runs real well again. It was giving me fits stalling at idle and flooding all the time when starting. Amazing what a little maintenance can do.

Our neighbors brought down a fresh load of sweet bread hot out of the oven. Yum.

I hope it is supposed to be that way.

If not then one of those male plugs could have 120 coming out when it shouldn't.
