Well folks I finally had my back surgery. It went very well and all of the pain/numbness in my right side and leg is gone. Hurting in the area of my incision but other than that Im doing great. I'll be on the forums all day for the next few weeks. If anyone Is looking for anything In particular let me know and I might be able to help you get it.

Maybe it's the drugs , but I'm really thankful to be a part of this group of people. This place is more than just a Internet forum of strangers to me. I'm proud to know each of you and I thank you for your friendship.

I have degenerative disc disease. Blew my L-5 disc and have hobbled by with steroid injections so far trying to avoid the knife. The last 2 years I am starting to have problems with my S-I joint. Hope you are fixed for good.

If you've not done it already; lose some weight. That alone does wonders for back pain. Heal up quick wishes for you.

Thanks folks. I blew out a disc at L5 S1. They cut out a big piece of the disc and removed a big chunk of free floating disc that had broken off.

Green, the pain is instantly better after surgery. If you're still struggling I strongly suggest getting it over with.

Mighty I only weigh about 185 lbs but I'm only 5'6 too. It definitely wouldn't hurt me to lose a bit but I'm not all that big.

I lost about 50 lbs two or three years ago and it's helped a lot.

Right where I want to be.
    Good news on the surgery.
I would expect you'll have numbness at the incision for the rest of your life, but that's small potatoes compared to the alternative.
You're just another friend we hadn't met until recently, so hang around.
So, you'll be here buggin' the crap outta' everyone for a few weeks, eh? Welcome to my world. :thumbs:
Tons and tons of gooder folks here.
