Big storm moving in overnight. More branches for me!

 

It started blowing pretty good here a couple hours ago. Sounds like tomorrow could get a bit interesting. I brought in extra wood for Monday. I'll be surprised if the covers stay on my stacks after tomorrow.

 

Yep, we have a wind advisory for tonight through the early a.m. Monday.
I'll be staying out of the woods, thank you very much.
We'll probably lose power. Seems like that happens if someone sneezes in the wrong direction.

 

I just started the generator to make sure it would run if I need it. Having started it means I probably won't need it, but doing it now beats fiddling with it in the dark.

 

Looks like rain wind then another cold blast. Got extra pellets stacked inside and the stove temp up to boxer short/ T shirt. Coffee is good and so are the cinnamon buns. I think I'll get a fish chowder started. But first I have to get the old dog moving. He has been laying on the floor with his head on my foot. I don't mind that except for him being in competition with me about who had the worse gas.

 

That...is a TMI moment.

Tornado warning for a radar indicated tornado about 5 miles north of me. Horizontal rainfall, horizontal trees, went to the basement during a storm for the first time in many years.

Somehow I still have power.

 

Winds are really picking up here right now. Big gusts and the trees are really swaying now. Hope the power stays on and we don't get tornados. It's times like these I am glad I took down the trees that were growing over my house.

 

Stay safe 343amc, we get it the storm tonight, some on Monday too.

 

All good here. Lost some branches off the spruce trees but nothing that needs a chainsaw to clean up. The real wind is supposed to show up after the cold front passes in a couple more hours.

Can't say I remember ever seeing storms like this around here in November.

It's been blowing strong here since early afternoon and then I see the real wind is supposed to start later this evening/tonight. Could get interesting....I just moved 1.5 cords up to the patio right outside the walk out basement/stove room yesterday and covered it so I'm ready that way. Had the genny running about three weeks ago and put some load to it so should be good that way also but it will suit me just fine if I don't have to drag the genny out. Stay safe everyone.
