I`m looking for a beater saw that I can cut the stumps I`m making while clearing old pasture. Hate to drag my new 562xp through the dirt already!!!
Trees will be approximately 20" +/-.

I think I need one too. I just bought a Husky 55 that may become my new go-to firewood saw. I'm thinking about using the Echo for those kinds of jobs, but it's almost still too nice for that.

Yeah - bought the one Dex had for sale a while back. He modded the muffler for me too. Thing is a beast! But it's not a limbing sort of a saw, for me. I'd rather have something lighter. Heard good things about the 55's. I'm kind of in the experimental stages of CAD, you see. :D

Oh yeah. I forget people don't use the big saws for everything. I thought you meant stumping since that's what the thread was started about.

If the poster had been a little quicker I sold a 385 and 7900 this week that would have worked for stumping saws.

That 385 would be a good stumping saw. We "flush" cut stumps all the time on the tree service I worked for, usually with a 372 or 660, and as long as you scrape back the dirt and don't run the bar in the ground, it's no more dirty/ damaging to the saw than normal cutting

Sorry for the :Yar:! I usually "flush cut" low enough where I can drive over them no problem. I definitely bust out the 385 for those now. But I might have a need sometimes to remove even those low stumps though, especially where I want to put in the garden next year. I want something sacrificial for that - and run it into the ground, literally. I think maybe I'll trade saws with my BIL when that need arises.

Not right now. Maybe in a few weeks. I had thoughts of selling the 372 but probably will hold onto it for a bit longer now.

Funny you mentioned a stump cutter. I was just looking on craigslist the other day for chainsaws in the local area. This one came up. Prolly a little older than you are looking for. But, maybe for you or another collector out there.

I dont consider 50-60ish stumpers. But if it is what you are looking for.

I can let a echo 6700 67cc in the last price range. Was a friends landing saw. He put it up for awhile and I took it in trade. Put a muffler on it with a simple muffler mod under oem deflector. Put a newer 670 side tensioner clutch cover with chain brake.

    6700 to me handles like a husky 365 http://www.acresinternet.com/cscc.n...337b4ff7f57740b788256d0d001fc1dd?OpenDocument

Not really. I had a friend give me a 046 so it's staying. Other than that the rest can go any time. There's tons more out there.
