    My name's Ryan. I'm new here, and new to the wood burning community as a whole. I just installed a woodstove in our house over the summer to try and combat the ridiculous gas bills we had been paying in the last two years. Since then I have yet to hear our gas furnace run, and we absolutely love our wood heat. As I'm just getting started we only have about 5 cords stacked right now. However that number will keep going up now that I bought a saw and log splitter.

    I'll have to get some pics up here shortly. I bought an Echo cs590 with a 20 in bar and a Dirty Hands 22 ton splitter

    Hi Ryan welcome to the forum! Sounds like you're pretty well on your way to wood hoarding! Looks like the Echo CS590 is a good saw for the money. Maybe that will be my next saw. I've had an Echo string trimmer for decades and it still runs great!

    I think you will find it preferable over some lighter saws. :)

    Howdy.
    New member-first post.
    I sawmill/kiln dry/flooring/furniture for indoor and outdoor since 1982.
    I use a wood fired water heater (taylor) to heat lumber kiln/wood shop/furniture showroom/dog grooming shops bath water/well box/1890 house/aquaponics fish tanks/green house.
    I go through about 30 cord per yr but would like to have 40 cord per yr.
    I have been wrestling a chainsaw and lugging it up to a single wedge hyd splitter.
    The first week in Jan. we take delivery of a firewood processor (dyna SC12XP).

    It's a Taylor 165k btu model. Very old, we purchased it from the HWY127 Worlds longest yard sale. Were a just a few miles from Jamestown TN the originator of the sale. The Taylor was $50 (new about 12k)
    I was about to build one but found a good used one.
    I like the square feet of hot metal to water ratio. Our model has 65 square feet of hot metal to water.
