    Well, at least a part of me has been recalled. Got a letter informing me that one of my store bought hips has to be replaced. Dang. I really don't want another surgery but they say something about some metals getting into the bloodstream. Must be serious but that's all I know about it now.

    The Sam Bernstein Law Firm in Detroit has been advertising for a few weeks now on TV. Saying that $$$$$$$$ are available for compensation for this.

    That stinks, my grandpa had a hip put in in the 80's and the doc put too short of a hip in so he had a leg much shorter than the other. That was all fixed when he needed the other in the 90's to match. Probably could've got a good settlement, but he just dealt with it. Just the kinda guy he was. I miss that dirty old sailor.

    I think the side effects of the metals contaminating the blood go something like this.
    Likes to burn wood and hoard wood stacks.
    Instead of splitting horizontally, insists on splitting vertically and tries to convert all to vertical splitting.
    Hoards milk crates and old cushions.
    And last but not least, caused his closest/dearest soul mate to become ornery with above mentioned goings on and then labels her such!

    Seriously, hoping for the best for you!

    :doh: Although my Father's wife only has two hip joints, she has had 4 replacements. I am sorry, I hear the recovery time is long.

    Get the risks to each action. Like how high is the risk of the metal fragments getting into the blood. Can they retrofit he joint so it isn't metal on metal? I hate to see you get another hip replacement unless you determine that is what is in your best interest. I'm glad for you that you are ahead of your firewood. Just never know what is ahead.

    I'd request valium to take before you goto hospital and wear an Ironman costume to surgery singing thunderstruck.:vulture::thumbs: They might come up with a less intrusive treatment.

    My wife talked to someone at the hospital but was not able to get much information. She made an appointment for me but not until after the Holidays are over and then we'll get more information...hopefully.

    But this is not good news if it will cost us anything because my wife has had 5 surgeries in less than 2 years. Our savings account has taken a huge hit! Let's hope we're about done with all this but I hate too to think about being laid up when I need to be out working.
