How does one get poison ivy on their....... Face this time of year? If it's new, I recommend Technu. You can get it from your local pharmacy. They have a shower scrub as well as another lotion to use. Combine this with your standard non-itch for poison ivy, and you should be good in no time.

I got it while hanging a tree stand last saturday. The tree next to the one i was in had the dreaded hairy vine on it. I did my best not to touch it with bare skin but apparently it got me at some point. I washed my hands with technu when i got home just to be safe but i must have touched my face before washing. The rash started showing up on monday morning. Got it on my left cheek (in my beard too o_O) and above my eye. I'll have to check out the shower scrub for next time. Just gotta wait the itch out for now.

Don't get it on your pee-pee either! No joke! It happened to me, once...ONCE! As a physician, let me tell you, it happens way more often then you would like to know. How many guys pee in the woods and never stop to think their hands may have been exposed to ivy/oak/sumac?

I'm probably going to get poison ivy just from reading this thread. Sorry about your luck.

This. I always spray poison ivy blisters with tilex and let it sit for a bit. Clears it right up

    I hate that stuff

I've heard that before, but maybe it was from you. I'd try anything to get rid of that itchy chit.

Benadryl/Claritin by mouth, cortisone cream topical (too bad I let my MI license lapse, or I would prescribe you the high-power steroid cream), Aveeno oatmeal lotion. I feel for you brother. I'm super sensitive myself and it is a PITA.

So sorry. You might need to were cotton cloves at night so so keep your fingers off it and spread it around. At night your hands are apt to touch anything. Wear PJs to keep from dragging it to where you don't want it.

Men, don't use a coffee grinder for dehydrated hot peppers then use the bathroom. It first stings ones privates bad enough to make your eyes water, so one instinctively wipes his eyes, then everything burns. Not sharing how I know this  (in prep for fire hot chili cookoff Winter Park CO ~2010)

This sucks, I had it from a tactical exercise while at work, I went to my doctor and she wouldn't get very close to me:bug:, it took way over a month to clear up.
