What's the .22LR status around the country these days?

I don't think that's the case, in this case.
They got in a pallet of American Eagle this past summer, limit was 150 rnds. a day/customer. You had to buy your paltry 3 boxes at the checkout, they kept track to keep the sales fair. This time it's different. They're not advertising that they have it, you only find out from word-of-mouth. The guy behind the counter told me they want to keep it local. I'm good with that. Local or not, you're still limited to your daily purchase.
I have no problem with "hoarders". I do have issues with those that buy the available inventory, then double the price. I'm not alone in that sentiment.

It's kinda like the speculators in the oil market. Ok, not really much at all. But both suck for consumers. One more set of hands in the till, producing zero.

Last time I even looked I was at a flea market,,5 clams for a box of 50 Remingtons..Glad I have plenty, always have. We used to plink around quite a bit,,,not so much anymore.
Twin brother called me wanting .243 ammo, said it was 30+ bucks a box!! I gave him a couple boxes of off the shelf stuff I had, price on it was well <20 dollars, and a couple boxes of handloads a buddy had rolled wanting me to try,,hopped up 55 grain fodder..my old 700 likes the heavier stuff..I won't buy any from the scumbucket profiteers..

That's what he said. I even asked him if he meant 20 bricks and he clarified 20 pallets.

    Fiocchi?

I was out of .22 WMR and was at my bro's place over Thanksgiving visiting. He had some ammo brands I have never heard of or tried.
One was Fiocchi good bad decent?

I went ahead bought a 100 HP 40gr .22 WMR to try as I didnt want the poly tip and lighter gr that was in stock local. Even the local HP was a lighter gr then I usually use.

Just read this. Fiocchi has been producing quality ammunition since 1876 in Italy. In recent years Fiocchi has begun to produce ammunition in Ozark, MO recognizing the importance of the U.S. market.

That's crazy if he's got that many bricks of .22 and is still charging that much! The few times I've found bricks of 500 bulk it's still just over $20. CCI Standard Velocity goes for a little higher, but I still think I got my last few bricks for around $25. Most times that I see gun shops raising the price like that it's because they only have a handful of boxes left.

I've shot quite a bit of their center fire and shotgun rounds, it's pretty good. I think I have about 100 rounds of Fiochhi .22's but have never shot those.

By the bricks the CCI is always the cheapest here.

I've shot some fiocchi 22wmr. Seemed to be right with cci for accuracy. The 30 grain Hornady stuff is the most accurate and fattest shooting from the wife's rifle. 8" less drop at 200 yards.

Well, Murdochs is a chain store so I don't know how they set their profit margins. Like I said, not a deal but at least they have it.
I had about a dozen calls today from people to let me know they had it, the word is leaking out. Even at those prices, they'll sell it in the next month or so.
I did a count last night, only want 2 more bricks to be back in my "comfort" zone, so it won't be that bad.
Only place in Denver that had .22 was selling 330 rnd. packs for $70.00, last I heard. It's been dry around here for quite a while.

The gun range I went to at home a few months back had 2 pallets of 22lr setting in the gun shop side. They were selling by the brick or case.

70 bucks for 333 round packs. I saw it as high as 50 a brick the last two years. I'd see them as high as 80 a brick on armslist. I bought up a few cases before the re-election so I wasn't short or playing into the it's going to be banned phase.

which cci? Blazer (that's made by cci) has always been the cheapest non bulk ammo but cci standard velocity has always been 10-15 bucks more a brick. Last I saw it, it was 39.99 a brick.

That Fiocchi you picked up should be very good ammo. I have a few differnt weights in sub, regular and hyper velocity in regular 22lr and it is some of the better stuff I've shot. I haven't seen it in 22wmr around here. Been shooting pistol and centerfire rifle for a few years and the brass is good quality brass for reloading.

It's Funny how things vary from county to county.

Yep that's the problem. If people would quit paying scalper prices, the market would stabilize. But as long as bubba joe can go clean out Walmart every morning and then sell it for 100 bucks a brick, we'll keep seeing 22 scarcely

I got some fiocchi .380 over the summer in NH. I like them, and I think they are decent for the money. I'd rate them in the middle.

From what I've read, the European ammo is especially good in smaller calibers like 380, 32, and 25acp since they load it hotter over there. Lots of military and police units used small caliber sidearms for a long time there. Some still do
