Took a wild trip to Lebanon NH with my friends Gary and Kelly yesterday so they could pick up their beautiful Woodstock Soapstone Progress HYbrid woodstove. They live just over the town line from in in Asburnham Maasachusetts.

The weather got pretty scary on the highway as we neared WhiteRiver Junction VT with cars off the road in the median and one 12 wheel truck totally overturned on the right.

Took Rt 12 home. Stopped at the 4Aces for lunch. Unfortunately I fogot my camera and my cell phone as when we left my house with the motorcycle trailer for the woodstove I had just finished doing "Internet Battle" for Red-Sox Spring Training tickets. We've got tics for a couple games! The trip will include a side trip Miami, Key West, Alabama Barber Motorcycle Musuem, and Nashville.

We had a great visit with Jaime and the crew on duty and got to meet and chat with Tom the owner. All hands are working as hard as they can to get people's stoves to them as quickly as possible. We finally got back to Massachusetts around 6:00PM last night and hopefully will have the "muscle crew" in tomorrow afternoon to help with getting the stove out of the garage, up a small set of stairs, into their big family room.

More pics (I'll remember to bring my camera) as we install Gary and Kelly's new stove this week! Sty tuned.

My ride home was hairy and it was August, wouldn't want to do it with snow and ice.
Once you get it to it's spot in the house it goes together nice and easy, Woodstock did a good job with directions. Don't forget pics once it's installed.

So I thought the install was tomorrow. But Gary, (the lucky owner) is a lineman for the local electric company so they've got some job lined up for Monday, and it's very cold here on the Ma/NH border here right now. So, we found a few young guys to help withthe heavy lifting and from his garage to the back steps to the family room took 20 minutes. Getting it lined up on the hearth another 1/2 hour. The pallet is so well thought out, the legs go on and the pallet comes apart underneath as the legs go on.

Gary got a T fitting for the 90" out the rear, then straight up. He's got great draft. got a bit smelly and smokey for a little while tonight, but before long he had the break in fires completed and that heater was jugging along just doing it's job.

What a nice install. He's not big on internet forum but I'll keep ou guys posted. We had a great visit up to Woodstock and it was nice to chat with Tom a bit. He really likes our group here and speaks highly of all of you.

    Here's some pics.

They are so excited about this stove. It's new home for them, and the PH was just what they needed to meet their heating needs. I talked to them about the IS as a possible solution too, but they fell in love with the PH and they were also impressed with the way the Fireview heats my place.

    Very nice install.

I see they have a gas Woodstock as well?

I don't like the idea of the ash lip at all, especially if you cook on the stove. Just asking for a nasty burn from the cast iron sticking out, in my opinion.

The pic of them is up at the Woodstock showroom, with Jaime one of their management staff, and I think that might be a gas stove on the right behind them, but they don't have a gas Woodstock.

Infact, now they have another combination livingroom/dinning room on the other side of the house with a Fireplace and they are thinking of adding a nice insert to that. Any suggestions from my insert experts?

Do they need more heat or is it just for fun? I would think the PH can heat their house unless its huge, mine's heating 2800 sf pretty well so far (no frigid weather yet)

Beautiful layout of the house and the stove looks like it was made to be in there. They have the place all decorated up nicely.
I cant let my wife see this post and pics.:coffee:

They don't really know yet, they just moved into the house this summer. They have about 2800sq ft, it's a big colonial with an attached 28sq garage and the great room/family room is over that. The far side of the house has a fireplace, and just decorative doors on it now. The previous owner had another large (old) woodburner in the cellar, but they decided it was junk if not dangerous. So they are taking once step at a time. They don't know if they really need it, but they are thinking they might and they know an insert would work much better than that whats there now.

I think they'll go the season this year and then decide what to do next.

I was up in Caribeau Maine at a B&B in September and the family that ran the place had a gorgeous enamel brown insert that they loved. I think it might have been a "Harmon" but I can't really remember.

Hampton maybe? I have another fireplace upstairs too that I could put another stove, I was either going to keep my princess and add another insert to the other fireplace or hope the PH would do the trick, so far so good, it's much easier to only operate one stove than two. The colder night (10-15) we've used a quartz heater for the one room that stays cool and the house was warm so I think I can get away with just the one. Maybe their floor plan/insulation is different and may need another.
