I feel like this year has come in like a lamb. Haven't burned that much yet. Maybe 1/2 cord at the most and that's pushing it.

I've burned a lot so far but mostly due to the fact that this year I'm heating a really drafty house this year

Yeah...I remember that issue you were having. Did you add the 2nd stove or get the new windows?

Windows are being installed, not done yet. But the new ones in so far are helping some. Probably add another stove later when I renovate the kitchen.

Yeah...that 2nd stove will make it a lot warmer, but those windows will cut down the need for all those extra btu's

I'm burning a lot less this year. Combination of seasonally average temps (as opposed to having snow in October the last three falls), not having a new stove to play with for the first time in six years, and I insulated the attic two weekends ago.

Just the ugly's and some old pine. Tossed in some ash for a longer burn.

Been fairly mild here. Suppose to be mid forties today. I haven't burned much wood yet this year. Let's hope it doesn't hit us like a ton of bricks when it does hit. I hope it doesn't with snow. I need to get into the woods and get wood out before it gets deep. I almost have all of this years wood under cover. Hopefully finish today.

I have been burning mostly white oak because that's what I have....that has cut down the consumption.

I like the uglys and the chunks. Sometimes they give you really long burn times with the knots and the misshapen grain.

Rain & warm.....Not for long. just halted the stove from burning. Ugly's were perfect for last spell of chill.
