Got in the woods

    For something other than hunting. I have been working on filling the freezer. But have been itching to get in the woods and run the saws and split some wood.

    Brought the 046 and 372, mostly ran the 372.

    Got everything cut up.

    Didn't have far to go with this standing dead tree.

    Had to noodle a couple crotch pieces.

    Busted everything else up.

    Started a new row ready for the splitter.

    It was a rainy mess yesterday, but today was beautiful, although a little windy.

    It sure was, I tried to give it a go yesterday and I was ankle deep in red clay in no time what a mess.

    That barn looks really nice. Do you store wood inside also?

    All red oak.

    Here is an older pic of the inside of the barn. All the wood once it gets split to stove size goes in the barn for a couple of years.

    The bay is 18' wide and the stacks are a little short of that, 17'ish.

    I should be fine without any further luck. How have you made out? I remember you mentioning somewhere you were going to hunt more this year.
