I agree w/ midfielder....looks like the stove needs more burn air, as it looks like I see pieces of pellets that are not completely burned in that "cake" at the edge of the burn pot. I don't know much about a Harman....do they have a trim to increase burn air? Or decrease pellet supply?
She didn't buy a Harman. She has a Eurozone I believe. To answer your question, though, you can't increase air or slow the feed rate with a Harman.
actually, you can decrease the voltage to the combustion blower with a Harman, which would in turn decrease the air thru the burnpot..........as for slowing the feed rate, yea, you can, by minimizing the feeder setting, but this isn't a good idea.....youre basically minimizing the maximum feed per minute, which would be bad in higher demand situations...like winter.....
Huh? The stove isn't completely burning what it's feeding now.....more pellets will just increase the problem, IMO.
I look in the bottom of the clinker, see no unburned, clinker causing a blockage and pellets over riding? But my eyes are old!
Yes, drolet eco-65 Yes, unburned pellets! I want to blame the fire in the ash pan a week or so ago on this situation/these pellets. I didn't have any clinkers with the first 1.5 tons of a different brand. I'd like to use the rest of the 1.5 tons kind, but they are buried under the another ton of the clinker pellets. The burn pot never looked like this with the different brand either.
Yeah, you can decrease the feed rate and I thought of that but didn't mention it because of the reason you stated. As for air, I didn't know you can decrease it but I think her issue is lack of air. Can you increase it as well? That is something I may be interested in doing.
that sounds like a foreign language to me, going to google those...... Is that a mechanical adjustment like a screw? Or something one does on the display panel? Opening owners manual as I type.
There is a small hole in your control board, there is a pot behind it,just turn it to the right.Only affects it a little. If you need lots more air you might be a cantidate for the double paddle fan blade, usually for high alt. or tall chimney. As most of maine is below sea level(seems like it,all the swamp) do not think you need this.
Looks like-in your manual-you may not be able to use all settings with poor pellets. As you say you are getting unburned pellets, did you clean out the ports behind the access panels?,and you want to make shure the cover plate under the burn pot is sealed or could cause a problem.
I have some homework to do, and the cover plate is definately sealed, the wing nut burned off in the ash pan fire, waiting on a replacement in the mail along with a new ignitor. bob do you know where this is and what it looks like? MAKE SURE THAT THE FRESH AIR INTAKE SHUTTER WORKS FREELY
Last year I was burning Okies and I was running low on pellets so I picked up 10 bags of Cubex. As the stove started to burn the Cubex the burn pot started to fill up with what looked like LARGE dog turds that looked exactingly like what Is in the picture. I cleaned out the hopper and started to re burn the Okies and everything came back to normal. It will be my best guess that there Is nothing wrong with the stove Its just a batch of bad (chitty) pellets The Cubex are great for oil spills or mulch around plants But I will not buy them again Jim
That's what we are selling, and yes having some problems with them. I use eco-flames right now that are sold at King Soopers/Kroger stores and made by the same company, Confluence. The Eco flames seem to actually be burning cleaner, and I'm sure at retail price they are less expensive. I can't say for sure though because I get a discount on both. I get the Rockies at cost plus 10% through my work, and get eco flames through my ladies work for super cheap. We get the broken bags for $2.00 to $2.50 a bag depending on who is working the register and they usually aren't missing much. Rocky Mountains have not been super great for the past couple years. My stove eats them well still, but only if I keep it burning on high. I can also adjust the air flow in my stove, so that may help. Some stoves you can't do that with. In a shoulder season situation which it has been here all year so far I'm scraping my burnpot every other day. In fact, I'm waiting for it to cool down now so I can pull a huge clinker out lol
Have never worked on one of your units,so looked at your manual online.Your stove has 2 combustion motors(they call them different) At the tube that your OAK clamps to,behind this is the flap and one of the combustion blowers.Either one can cause your problem. If flap is sticky or motor not runningwill cause burn problems. However looks simple, take off back of stove and 2 clips and whole unit falls into your hand.Page 72 in online manual.
