the last storm we had, the first two pictures are some damage from the most recent storm, We also have two Cherry (pictured) on each side of the first pic, the Cherry is on the spring schedule, pic 0743 is looking down from below the Cherry.
One of my first times cutting on the side of a hill (a big azz Basswood) I limbed it up at the top, after cutting some rounds off it, I saw it start to move so I backed away.....the rootball took off down the hill swinging the top back up at me but because I limbed it up first I was ok. I also was working from the topside, when the rootball stopped the top took off down the hill, that tree still sits there, I'll get a pic tomorrow. I was cutting it for shoulder season wood, I would never cut Basswood again for shoulder season wood.
Those trees on that hill are scheduled for the spring, if I take anything before snowmobile season, it will be topped off stuff. The only other thing I might do depending on this storm coming in would be cutting more shoulder season wood, lots of White Pine and Hemlock that are down. Next years shoulder season wood is done but not for 2016. I'm all out of room around the house for stacking areas for our better hardwood so we'll have some areas open in the spring.
Looks like you lost almost all the snow or else lost it then got a dusting afterwards. Are they calling for anything coming up? Not much here but some rain showers and then some snow showers.
Backwoods Savage, The hardest hit areas could get two feet of wet heavy snow, hopefully it stays east and south of us. Edit, I finally received my lesson on using the @ before a members name, thanks Stinny.
Not much on the schedule for tomorrow except a few loads out that I'll stack, the second thing his a trail that goes to the hill that runs the length of the Brook,I need to see if it's opened up. We have an existing trail that comes off the backside of the hill that would be nice for the Rhino or the sleds, it has three trees across it which might get started the following week depending on the storm.
