    That's a consumable part for any 044.046,066,440,460,442,461,660. That's a wear item just like chains and bars. Wow. That'd be like a welding supply shop not carrying tips for the welders they sell.....

    Wow. I'm shocked... Of coarse I haven't set foot in a dealer since I moved. I was fortunate enough to have an awesome husky and stihl dealer in the middle of logging country where I grew up

    What kind of dealers do you guys have? My stihl dealer has seals, carb kits, gasket sets, fuel lines, even stuff for 084s in stock.

    Crappy ones....... you can get fuel line spark plugs and some chains. Even the bars are pretty limited also. Anything else you want well it will be 3 days or you can drive to the other dealer 1.5 hours away that has it in stock.

    Even though they have no parts they have just about every saw stihl carries even 880's.... go figure.

    They did have a brand new MS 170 for $169. Seems like that was the cheapest I ever saw a new one of those.

    The dealer I buy parts from doesn't stock the full lineup of saws but a ton of parts and rolls of .404" chain even.

    The quality of dealers varies widely as I'm sure you're aware. I love that you can walk into Spike60's place and build a Husky from what he's got hanging on the wall behind the counter. Ran over your 346/57/72/90 and need a new tank, handle and starter? He's got you covered in 1 trip, that day. Probably why he has a great rep among his commercial customers too. And while that's exactly what we'd like to find in every small engine shop across the USA, I also know full well how much money that kind of inventory ties up. :eek:

    My dealer of choice doesn't always have everything I need in stock but if they don't have it, they order every day and as long as I get my order in before lunch, what I need is there the next day. Hell, their computer system will automatically txt me as they receive my junk so I don't have to call ahead to check if my stuff is in. That's a pretty close second to having everything in stock. :thumbs:

    If it's not in stock at mine they have a weekly order or I can pay freight to get the stuff faster. I guess I can't complain since I don't pay list for very much stuff there.

    My husqvarna dealer waits for a 'big enough' order to order parts and then only charges 150% of list price.
