    Ive never heard anyone say a stock 461 was faster than a 660? Port the 461 and run that test again. Not sure about a ported 461 vs a ported 660?

    Well, myself and the 20 others that seen must all be liars. Because it smoked a 660 in May and in Oct.

    (And for the record, it was a ported 460 vs a ported 660).

    Just sayin.. :)

    So one guys ported460 beat some other guys ported 660? So what. That's not the end all be all. Maybe the said 460 had some special treatment. But it's not the norm. Maybe the said 460 had some red pop mixed in the fuel. Tons of variables. Tons of drama and secret builds at gtg's.... Not saying a well built 460 isn't possible, but two equally ported 460 and 660 the 660 will take it.

    I'm curious now. Who ported the smoked 660. For 10 years the 660 has been king of the 90cc saws, stock and ported. When I say stock, I mean no internal porting. Muffler mod is a given. Then There is always different versions of ports. High rpm pesky saw or less rpm grunt saw? Who cares in a 10x10 or 12x12. That's not why I have a 660. A 17k rpm cant saw won't last long on a mill or pulling a 36" bar in hardwoods.

    The 460 was always the ugly sister. It was 2lbs heavier than the 440 with 1/2 hp less. No one ever wanted a 460. They took a 372 or 440 or 066/660. Then the 385 came out and was all the rage and the first three years people ported them, the 660 still shined.

    Once the 390 was out, people had figured out how to make them run good, as it was a larger 372. It normally beat the 660's but there wasn't any smoking it. The 390 always smoked a well built 460.

    Maybe all the good 660 builders aren't doing work anymore but I find it hard to believe that a ported 460 smokes a ported 660. Maybe it was a fantastic running 460. Idk. Nit calling anyone a liar, but for the last ten years the 460 has been a mutt and now I'm reading it's the bestest saw ever made?
