I don't think there is anything wrong with it . You were leaning on it pretty hard for 8 pin to make it bog. I think you would be more impressed if it had a 7 pin but with a 20" bar it is going to cut better with a 8 pin.

I'm at a loss here. You lean on any saw that hard, it is going to bog. I was waiting for the gas tank to break. you can't lean on a stock 372 that hard, not even an Xtorq. It still sounds fat to me.

in 20 wood, you won't see a difference between a 70cc saw and a 90cc saw. you can't stand on them like that with an 8 pin. you lose about 25% torque going from a 7 pin to an 8pin. if you want to lean on a saw like that, put 7 pin on it.

now I want to see a video of this magical 372 that can be leaned on that hard and not fall on its face. 372's in stock form are very unimpressive.

660 has large spikes. Put them on a 70cc saw and you'll see how easy you can kill it.

If you've ran a flat top 066 you know the EPA strangled the 660

Correct. The 372 cylinders haven't been changed 5-7 times to meet epa so they could keep selling them. The port timing is still the same from 1999. The 660 has changed manufacturers and port timing a good bit during the run along with combustion chamber size.

The saw isn't being leaned on hard, I promise you that. But I certainly will on the next one to show you.

This still baffles me. I went from a 59CC to a 72cc and the difference was mind blowing, both stock. I go from the 72cc to a 92cc and it's not mind blowing?

Josh do u have a tach? Set that 660 at about 13200 to 13600 and try it. My buddy Ron 660 has a ported 660 and he likea it in that range. Tune it there and do videos of the 2 saws side by side. May be alil different story if u get that 660 tuned but id still like to see. Do u have a 7 pin to throw on the 660?

I don't have a tach, but I watched some of your videos and I'd like to get my hands on it. I don't have a 7 pin either..

I doubt stihl engineers were concerned how a 660 would perform with a 20" bar for firewood.

    Apple to oranges. IMHO

Here is where I disagree ..............

    Which works harder ?
    A 660 with a 20 inch B&C
    or
    A 660 with a 32 inch B&C

    Both using 7 pin rims

    ???

That's very true. However, it has to turn a 20" hard in order to turn a 36" decent.

Josh, I have one of those HF units. The first warm day I am going to use it for skeet practice. Maybe you could take the saw over to a shop and use a good one.

That's a good idea. But I did determine it was a joke since the 372 showed only 3# higher.

Since your 372 turns a 20" better it will also with a 36"?

Your still not concidering the spikes. Different feel and leverage
