This is the economy Globe /Chefmate model, retails for about $600 new
Have been looking for a nice slicer for awhile now but they are just so expensive, wanted a bit better one than this but hey the price was right and it is close

I found one of the best uses is slicing fruit and veggies for drying. Apples, pears, zucchini, Tomatoes, peppers.
Slicing Cucumbers up for sandwich pickles. and Hot peppers for Pickling as well. It allows me to get more out of my garden.

We have one, a home use model. Seldom use it. The blade is as sharp as any razor blade. So easy to get cut while you are taken it apart for cleaning. You can cut slices of tomato paper thin. When slicing meat, I would chill it down near freezing. That way you can cut those nice thin steaks for sandwiches.

never thought of using it for fruits and veggies, thanks for the idea

yeah, I was checking out the blade on it, it is definitely sharp as a razor. I hear ya on letting the meat firm up in the freezer, really helps. my wife likes her stir fry meat almost paper thin, this unit will will handle that no problem. I have an old Rival slicer ( small) that I sliced up some smoked roast beef on, motor was boggin down on it as I was slicing various thicknesses, going to smoke me another sometime soon, as well as some pork belly for bacon

    pics of old unit

I like the idea of slicing meat thin. It really handles better in sandwiches etc. that roast you are showing is just right for full flavor. Enjoy and no finger meat!

damm spell checker is the thing that missspelled that word. I was typing sandwiches and it switched the word out. I didn't go back over it so I got caught.... Again!
