We had nice weather yesterday and have been off work for Thanksgiving, so it was time to start a couple more stacks. I had a dead standing small white oak and a storm damaged Big tooth Aspen that I dropped, cut, split and stacked. Not much, but every bit helps. It felt good to be out again. Youngest daughter helped me stack.
Yep, a little here and a little there makes a pile. I cut a few big rounds of aspen yesterday and ain't it crazy how heavy that stuff is until it dries.
Ain't that the truth... Full of water now and dries light as a feather. Bottom of the food chain for BTU's, but I love this stuff for starting a fire or throwing a couple of small splits on the coals in the morning to get a hot fire quick. Burns like gasoline.

Well..... Thanks I guess, it was approaching my limit. Still worried I might have pulled something important.. Big Bark goes for fire starting.... Small bark goes back into nature. Maxxis Bighorn tires. Good mud/traction tires....
Thanks, we have 4650 miles on the original tires on the Rhino, we'll need some new ones down the road.
I didn't measure, but the big ones are around 20" I guess. From the Aspen main trunk, I cut 11 rounds total at about 18" long and was getting 14 splits from the biggest ones down to about 12 splits for the smallest. Total of about 140 splits I guess. The white oak, I split in larger pieces, figuring I would use them for over nighters. Got about 60 splits from that 10" diameter oak. I'll finish both these stacks off with another Aspen and white oak I have my eye on that are dead/storm damaged.
