What's your electric bill like from pellets?

Just went upstairs there were 15 lights on, the sewing machine and the TV.

Now about that link Larry, I haven't looked at their stuff in sometime and I will not buy one without knowing if it will fill the bill. I used to spend more than a little time at Bangor Hydro Electric's (I don't know if it still exists) energy house, we held computer club meetings there and more than once the lights went out with people in the room. They did have some neat stuff, I liked the induction range. This was some time ago.

15 lights on. Man, you have it worse than I do with the light situation. My wife is now spending much of her time in the family room where the stove is located. She just loves 80 f. Some nights, she doesn't bother going to bed. She falls asleep in her recliner and is there for the night. The kittens are in a playpen in front of her so she has a lot of entertainment between them and the TV reruns. She wants to keep the kittens, but shows no interest in their litter boxes. The kittens are all blue point himalayans. Beautiful cats. Very clean. Not clawing up the furniture.

Yep.. Why I bought one and found what everyone else found. The pellet stove is a low dollar unit to run :)

Quilters can be a bit different. Stuff gets spread out all over the place. You should see what happens when about 40 of them get together.

I wish I could help you with the kitten situation but my old tom cat would not tolerate another cat in the house, he barely tolerates his staff. As for cat litter boxes and such the boss always stayed away from them under the guise that the cats were mine, even the ones she brought home from the shelter. Dear, look what I got for you today, as she holds out her hand with a cute little kitten in it.

    Pallet Pete,

A slow leak in your plumbing (like in a toilet tank refill valve) if you are on a well can cause the electric bill to run high as well.

$200 a month would make me shudder, even $100 would lead to multiple kill a watt meters being obtained and used. I'm looking to install a grid tied pv system but the payback period is asinine for what is basicly a bunch of rocks on the roof.

OK I am totally blonde right now…………………………………………..:headbang:

The bill said estimated refund or credit In little itty bitty writing under the amount!

Which means they are estimating regardless of my sending the meter reads so theres another battle about to happen……..

    Its not a bill.:loco:

We used so much less energy between the bulbs, wood stove, pellet stove and solar lighting we got an account credit.

It literally looks like a bill and doesn't say this is not a bill!

Its time for a party! :dancer::dancer::dancer:

    Where do we start gang?

Do we raid his pellet and wood stash or do we make off with his beer supply first? We will return for what we don't make off with on the first raid:doh::dex::vulture::whistle::popcorn::wacky::pete:!!!!!

Oh my....... Ok Pete, we'll give you a pass on that one (for now). I never knew of them giving you a credit. Is your house connected to the grid with on of those new "smart meters"? If it is, you can go on line and really get a good look at your usage.

No it isn't on the smart meter.

I can go to the website and see the usage but it's a month behind. They gave us a credit once before long ago because they messed up an estimation which is why I started reading it and sending it in to them.

Them bags have holes in them, that bagged pit is in big trouble, but I'll bet when imacman pulls out that juicy steak the tail will be too busy wagging for the dogy to do anything but chow down on it.

If you're in Consumers Energy territory, you should be getting a smart meter in the next year or so. I think they're supposed to have them all swapped by early 2016. They swapped my meter a month ago. I got a lot of estimated bills as they'd only send out a meter reader every other month. I about crapped this summer when I got a $230 electric bill until I found out it was estimated based off the usage from the same time last year. The summer of 2013 was a lot warmer than the summer of 2014. Next month it evened up and my bill was around $50.

Pete, when the smart meters came here, you would have thought someone was being poisoned. Some were very upset if the meters were on the wall of their bedroom for fear some electronic field would make them ill. They did everthing they could to stop it, but it went in. There was a ruel that they could have their old meters but it would cost them extra. In the meantime, all the studies from everywhere else failed to demonstrate any reason not to install the meters. The only bad thing I know of is the loss of jobs. No more meter readers.

I have researched them a little and I can't see down side? The BS of they can shut your power off if they want is just ridiculous. They can shut it off now... Lol I would love a smart meter!

factoring in both delivery and supplier charges, it's about $20 a month
