Lil fiskars before the sun come up

Figure i ease back into things as i havent hand split in some time. Didnt get an after picture, kids woke up and SWMBO was hollerin. Wasnt much anyway. Top broke off during sandy. Easy splitting frozen maple. Felt good.

 

What? This thread is useless without the after pictures...... Lol
I assume you put the wood in the tractor tire and then split it.

Nothing like a little morning work out..

 

My dad criticized me when I bought a new splitting maul. Yet he told me that when my mom would pizz him off he'd go split wood for hours. Hmmm. What does he think I'd be doing?

Every bit helps. It does feel good to get out and do a little splitting once in a while.

is there any other way?

tire technique is easy. load rounds inside tire, go to town with fiskars, pull out nice splits. being pizzed at wife helps during any part of this process.

i find fresh cut rounds split easiest. frozen helps too.
