That was right over her barn and that roof is really thin. BUT, free wood. How do you refuse that?I'll get 1/2 cord out of this tree and another 1/2 cord out of some big Ash that was on the ground from a tree that was cut a while back. Part of it is cut up and I'm going back now that this break is done to cut up the test before lunch.
Done. And lunch time. Here is what I found whilst cutting the stump of this tree! Probably a good thing for her I took it down.
One of my favs, seasons quick and burns nice, I've been burning ash so far this year, saving the oak and hard maple for colder weather.
Good job. Those make me nervous until they are on the ground Looks like most of it is prime wood. Good score
Its a good thing that tree was not any bigger. Otherwise the getting it down could pose some problems.
That is true Dennis. If it were any bigger I would not have done it. The odd thing is you always seem to look back and see something you did not see before you started. I thought about it and thought about it and then just did it when I had the time. So, after I had cut the notch. and I was cutting the back cut, and the truck was all cinched up, and the rope nice and tight I said to my self, "Self, you dumb azz! Why didn't you just pull the truck into her backyard and pull the thing down the hill toward the field which would have went more toward the leaning and been easier! Too late! Get this thing down dumb azz! Oh self." Okay, maybe it didn't go just like that through my mind. But we are on a family friendly site.
