29* right now. Was too tired(?) (yeah that's it, tired!) to start another fire for an overnight burn since the coals sucked when I got home from visiting family. So no fire last night. I got up at 5:30 to a house that was a chilly 57*. Fire is going now and things are warming up.
Bro, you need to go for some really long walks in the woods or outside somewhere where the walking is good and get a ton of fresh air. Then that night before bed take a couple of good belts of your favorite blackberry brandy, or high octane Beer, or somethin! If you keep waking up at that time. How much sleep are you getting? 4-5 hours? That would catch up with me after a few days. And I would be miserable until I got caught up! Anywho, it is cooled right down here this morning. 18º and some large splits of Ash and a few small splits of Spruce placed in the boiler about 7:30 last night. Boiler not running right now so still in good shape on that load.
36 Degrees out here this morning... Just put a load of Ash in to bump up the temp abit. Going up to middle 50's today.
32 here this morning. Loaded up with sweet gum and mimosa mix. High of 44 expected today. First year burner here, so using all fast drying stuff.
Last night I loaded it up with dead Elm, lots of nice coals this morning. We had 15 this morning so I put some Cherry in the Liberty.
I'm a miserable kinda guy even when i'm asleep...20f and i kind of went crazy this morning as i put both swamp maple AND elm in the T5.
Loon the Miserable will become a historic name in our future, in the history of the Firewood Hoarders Club! Many years from now, when we have 258,000 members, the long timers will teach the newbies of the history of F.H.C. and Loon the Miserable and his dog Emma will be iconic figures.
Last night it dipped down into the teens. This morning it's 23 and climbing to 35 today. I was surprised to find the family room at 69. The wood stove is packed back up with Oak, and the temps should be rising shortly. Jason from RI
Low 40's now with some ash and maple rolling to keep us toasty. We left early Thursday for thanksgiving with snow cover here - made it up to Erie and the grass was bare. That's just plain wrong to me... I moved down here after 25 years of lake effect to get away from it..lol.. Had a great time with the families but it's great to be home.
It's 49 here. I overdid it. Filled the princess UP with what I believe to be maple. Tree was so dead every bit of bark is gone, so I'm going by wood appearance. Lit it from the top, ran it just long enough to warm up the chimney, and shut it down. It buried the galileo thermometer. 82+.
It has warmed right up here again. It is about 38º and the wind is blowing a little. Filled the boiler with Ash last night at 9ish and it is not running this morning. Not much demand right now.
