Sub I put my 2 tons in the basement today. Man they sure smell good! There was moisture on the bags just like yours. Not too much and I don't think there is any damage, didn't feel any clumps and the pellets sound crunchy in the bags if you will. Kind of odd how such moisture got in there, with the weather protection fully in tact on both pallets.
Mine are shrink wrapped with the thin shroud over them but only the shroud covers the top of the pallet. Flimsyest (new word?) covering I've seen yet.

I'm not sure. Their protective covering isn't the greatest. And these sat outside at HD for over a month before delivery. But I didn't see any tears in the outer wrapping so it may have been condensation.
Just put in the first bag of Blazers. Would you believe these all came from the same bag? Sub, do yours look like this?
will711 got some Cheat Rivers about two years ago that looked like those....but I'm SURE those Blazers are would absolutely smoke those crappy CR's. Maybe those really heated up going through the pellet die.
I haven't noticed any color variations like that but I haven't burned that many. It's supposed to get down into single digits tonight and I'll be throwing a bag in the hopper shortly. I'll look a little closer.
ttdberg, This often happens when the die gets too hot. It will scorch or partially burn the outer layer of the pellets. I have seen this with mainly oak pellets(Turmans-Cubex).
I ran my hopper dry and filled it back up with Blazers. I didn't see any dark pellets like that. Mine were pretty uniform in color, not so much in length.
The two bags I put in the hopper tonight came from a pallet that I hauled downstairs today. They were outside during the storm Wednesday-Thursday. I saw a little moisture on a few of the bags and some ice crystals, but no wet pellets when I put them in the hopper and I didn't feel any clumps in any of the bags. These things are certainly hot. 22 outside, 73 inside and I've been turning the stove down every 15 minutes. Tiny little fire in the stove. I like it!
I think I'm running on 2, it is 78 f in the bathroom, not sure what it is here in the room with the stove. It think it is cooler upstairs. But haven't been up there today. It is nice to have a stove that keeps us warm.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I thought the multi-coloring of those pellets was strange, especially considering my friend who got a few tons from the same batch I did gave me one of his bags, and the pellets were all very uniform in color (they were all the same as the lightest color pellets in the picture I posted). Anyway, no concerns here. I have burned 3 bags now, and I can tell you these pellets live up to every bit of hype I have ever read about them. Simply amazing heat and the ash (or virtually complete lack thereof) is truly something to behold. I'm getting 500 degrees at feed rate 3.4 and the ash is among the best I have seen to date. I honestly think I could run the stove for several days or a week with these, and not have to scrape the pot. I only have one regret right now: not buying more of them when I had the chance, but alas space to store them eventually becomes an issue, even for the best of us piglets
