The nor'easter cleared out but left one heck of a mess of deep heavy snow. The plow came down our dead end road and really left a huge snow bank at the end of our driveway. One of my sons came up and dug us out.
We had a fantastic family gathering at another son's home. They had a huge gathering of family and friends. Lots of kids running around.
Now back home. Feet up, fire going and my four footed furry friends are looking for attention.
Hope your Thankgiving was good for you.

Sigh, we were buried here as well. Over a foot and trees down everywhere. Lost cable, internet (and that means phone) and cell phone service Wednesday night around 8PM. Power went out around 10 but came back by 5am-that was a non issue. The real issue was no service to get hold of anyone as even my cell phone was not connecting to the network.

Its a scary thought to realize that you have no access to emergency service such as fire dept or ambulance during the height of the storm and even the entire day after. Teresa had to get to work from Kittery to Scarboro for a 5:45am start to her shift at the nursing home and I could not find out how she made out. RN's cant stay home for bad weather. Luckily by the time she got on the road at 4AM Rte 95 wasn't too bad but the normal 40 minute ride took an hour and a half. Needless to say, I did not sleep well thinking about her ride in. Thankfully she has a full size Chevy Avalanche that is good in the snow and she also realizes that even those vehicles require cautious driving-unlike others that blow by you as if invincible.

Bottom line about 4 hours of initial cleanup and then a ride to the next town to get cell service around noon and I was able to call out and make sure others were OK. Called my bro in Rowley MA and to see what was going on for famiky dinner-all OK down there so back home for a shower and made it just in time for dinner YAY !!

Still had no service when I got home at 8PM but picked up a movie to watch so all was good. Service came back around midnight and here I am back at FHC :)

I am currently using a mix of the Green Not so Supremes and the Curran Softies. Seems to be burning fairly well over the last week. I am still getting to many pots that fill with clinkers and then need to clean it out. Maybe need to try an adjustment on some of the "other" settings.

You have pellets stoves going as well as the Wood Gun, or does the Wood Gun also fire pellets?

I have a pellet stove in my camp in the woods. Try to keep that in the 40s when we are not there. This keeps electric heat from turning on. That is set to come on at 40.
