I am running a new 55-TRP10 and I have a OAK kit installed short straight run and used a complete 3" pipe kit single pc thru the wall to a clean out and the rest up the wall with a cap. I am using Hammers pellets and below is what I have been getting this is after a complete clean and then about a 24hr run on 9 and 9 used about 60-70lbs of pellets.

    Low Fuel Feed 6
    Low Burn Air 4
    Air on Temp 1

Anyone see anything wrong with these settings? The ash seems hard have been breaking it up and scraping it out with a small chisel and glass is so dirty you can hardly see thru it.

Those Hamers are a dense pellet....you might need to crank up your LBA a little and get more air going through your pot or cut down you pellet feed rate.

Do you remove ash out of your pot once or twice a day as the stove is running? Just open the door quickly and pull the ash?

I have been shutting down once a day cleaning the ash tray under it around the oak and the door glass. I will try from now on as it is running never thought to do it like that should the ash be making its self into like hard cookies?

I used to pull the ash out like (opening door while running...quickly) that when I had my pdvc.....no, your ash really shouldn't be like that but that type of burnpot design are a little less forgiving with stuff like that. You getting good heat out of it?

Heat seems a little weak to me but I have never had a pellet stove to compare it to. Just started it back up with the adjusted settings so we will see.

I typically ran my pdvc on 5-9-1 (depending on the pellet)....but that was me. Too high of LBA and you're sending heat out the vent but that seemed to work best for me.

The ash color looks good. Could be a little lighter (white/grey), but not bad at all. Running on 9-9 with those settings your gonna burn some pellets, so you can expect some Ash and your glass to be dirty.

Raising the LBA will help expell some more from the pit, along with increase burn temps, but as noted by Slvrblkk, it will also send heat out the flue faster. Which means less exchange time. It's a fine line between a bad burn and to good of a burn!

If you're comparing the pellet stove output to a wood stove.....don't. Wood stove puts out way more.

Just curious, why you're running 9-9? Is the heat output that weak?
As Imac stated, try 4-6-1, on my pdvc I run 4-5-1 but everything changes from stove to stove.

Don't know if the OP is running on a stat or not....if he is, the 9-9 is correct, according to the owners manual.

Otherwise, he has indicated in the past that the house is "poorly insulated". Also, is the stove in the main living area, or in a basement?
A check of the stoves "mode" setting might be in order also. After all that, a call or PM to Mike Holton might be in order to troubleshoot it.
