winter ready

Took the tarps out and covered the sides. Used zip ties. Gotta keep it dry. It still gets the sun from the top and the wind thru the bottom..

 

Looks good NYC. Do you get a lot of snow there over a winter?

 

Last year got some good amount of snow. It was snowing every other day last year expecting the same this year. Suppose to get about 6-12 tomorrow.

 

How will you cover the top?

 

Looks like the top has clear plastic panels, like metal roofing, only plastic. Nice work NYC.

 

I went with the clear to let the sun In. Helps with the drying process. I'll see how it holds up this winter. Thanks Dave

Looking real nice.. Using that for this winter? When I get around to building a shed, I'm going to do the same sort of thing - leave the back and sides open for summer airflow, and drape tarps over to keep the snow out in the winter.

Thank you. Im using It for this winter. Its holds about 7 cords full. Im gonna fill it up hopefully by the middle of december weather permitting..

 

I like the rubber roofing. I just wanted clear to let the sun In. I hope the panels hold up with snow on it. I have the pitch higher in the front so everything slides off to the baxk

Looks good NYC, I see you have your splits on the smaller side. What stove you burning ? I think you've said before but I forget, I'm getting older......

 

I figure if I split them small they dry faster. I got the Jotul F55

 

I like the clear roof. I think the sun is a good idea.

Keep an close eye on it tomorrow and you will probably see what the effect of snow will be upon it. Get out there with a straight edge and check it. If you see it sagging add some more support.

 

Thanks. I added some 2x4 all across for support but I sure plan on seeing once the snow gathers on top to see where I stand. I think the pitch will also help some. Time will tell. What is NJ expecting tomorrow for snow

 

Here it is as low as three or as much as 10" depending on whose forecasted range you look at. Probably pretty much the same that you are looking at depending on how it tracks. I'm a few feet from NY State line in Bergen County so we aren't that far apart.
