What would you tell your wife to do?

    details on situation:

Running on sett 6/6. High gusty winds here today.

Yikes, odd sweet smell, figured it was still paint curing, but then heard popping in the pipe like my old smoke dragons.

    said F 106

turned off now waiting for it burn out.

Went outside, chit! My husband did not get the guys on the roof before he left for a trip and the pipe is leaning 30%.

    He will be home tonight.

Just went in attic, all good up there. And noticed a battery operated smoke detector too, I didn't even know he put that in there!

I cant comment on the stove, Wild, but I think I'd turn it off......fire in the ash pan indicates overfeeding, which would be a bad burn, which can result on creosote accumulation, which is bad. Check with the manufacturer/dealer on this one....sorry I cant be of more help.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand what the OP is asking?

Sorry for confuzzlement. I wanted to know what you would tell your wife to do if she called you and said the flames are high and the ash pan is on fire. I just edited the OP.

well, I am divorced, but my answer would be to:
    1. Empty the hopper of unburned pellets
    2. Let the stove shut itself down (evacuate all the smoke)
    3. Wait till I get home!

I called Drolet. He said clean it out and it should be fine under speed #4. He was very upfront about that I had a first run model of a redesign. He also told me to check the wing nut to the ignitor faceplate. Yep, melted off!

He said he is sending out a free wing nut and a new ignitor (that apparently will not warp). How we will get the stub of the melted bolt out I have no idea.

Cleaned and put back together the stove, crossing my fingers it will light again! Thank you Lousyweather

I'm impressed! You're a hands-on girl! Although, I gotta say to Drolet: Why have a stove with settings I cant run the darn stove on?! At least they are up-front....

    Apparently I am lysdexic.

Drolet thinks it said F160 which is the overheating (exceeded 60K btus) error code.

I neglected to mention he thinks my altitude (7500) may affect the higher higher speeds. Tidbit for DexterDay and jtakeman , he said the serial numbers 3030, or any 303* indicate the the first run on redesign.

I would check your cap when hubby gets home. Caps get plugged pretty quick when it's cold and your running constantly.

As for flame in the ash pan? To many pellet and not enough air. Check cap (restrictions), check OAK inlet (restrictions), and clean stove (all internal exhaust passges/baffles.

Then relight and run on a lower setting. Watching closely.

My ignitor burned out on my Enerzone last week.. Hoping they have an updated model for me..

Cap on roof, right? or Cap on bottom of cleanout tee? I checked the oak vent to make sure my hired help did not stack pellet bags infront of it. He did not, remembered it from last time.
