I drive a 2003 Outback that has about 218K on it and I'm hoping to get at least 250K out of it. it's my first Subaru but everyone says it will do it easy if well taken care of. What cars have you owned that you got high mileage out of?
Got rid of my F150 when it was about to turn 200,000...If the body made it she's probably still running!!
Yeah my Outback is rusting over both rear wheel welds and I don't really want to pay for expensive body work. I got a sticker this year but it's only going to get worse.
I have a 1993 Plymouth grand voyager.I have over 300'000 miles.I use 20/50 oil in it otherwise it sounds like a diesel.I only insure it in spring and summer looks best with a canoe on it.Its the adventure van as the kids call it.
1990 Honda Accord 4 cyc, 5 spd . Last time I saw it, about a year ago, it was close to 300k and still going. KaptJaq
Got a 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 with just about 293,000 on it now. The Dodge parts are rusting away but the Cummins is still strong. Had a 1972 Chevy K 2500 that was well over 300K when I sold it. Sure do miss that truck.
When I was a kid we had an 85 Honda Civic that we drove to around 280k. In college I had an 87 Dodge charger that I drove to almost 300. that one surprised me, but it needed a LOT more work along the way than the Honda ever did to keep going. My parents are pushing 275+ on their 04 Camry.
88 ford escort 275k.blew up on 94 right at exit 12 sawyer mi. Pulled the plates and called for a ride , never got a call from anybody, probably went right to the scrap yard . I loved that piece of junk.
94 ford explorer was pushing 220,000. Motor ran like a top just everything else went south. Mom has a Chevy cavalier with over 250 I think.
99 F250, 470K miles and counting, original engine. 81 K5 blazer 370K miles and counting, 3 engine rebuilds.
Got 356 k on my daily drive 02 Yota and still going and 245 k on 01 outback before it needed more $$ than it was worth
Thank you it has a few dings and dents , but I try to take care of it And that pic was just after a wash and wax a few weeks ago
My dd is a 99 Toyota Avalon I bought new. It has 219k on it and runs and looks great. I'm hoping to drive it until it dies.
Now it's just a game to see how long it will last. My last car was a Dodge and I drove it until the tranny went. It was so rusty you could hardly jack it up.
2004 Chevy 4x4 suburban. I bought it with a badly knocking motor that had 305,000 on it for $1000. Previous owner loaned it to his drunk of a daughter who ran it low on oil and caused a rod bearing to start knocking and oil pressure to drop. I put a new junkyard motor in it and she's still rolling to this day.
I know what ya mean growing up in the Rust Belt ( Buffalo Area ) nothing lasted very long, rust protection is much better today
Let's see my first car was a Ford Tempo. I think I put 100k on it and passed it to my moms boyfriend who gave it back to mpg brother and then my dad drove it as a beater and then brother sold it. I think it had 300k on it last time we had it? Odometer quit at some point toward the end. Was a rebuilt tranny sometime around 100k ish but was original motor. Then I drove my moms on 1980 mercedes 300D. I think it was around 350k on it. Had climate control issues from the complex vaccume system and would not blow out of certain vents. Gave that back to her when I bought my 1990 ranger in about 2003. Got it with about 155k on out and I still own it and dont drive it daily anymore but it has 302k on it and the original motor and trans. 2.3L 5 speed manual. I parked it and use it to hunt and haul wood and for a truck when needed.. then started driving my wifes old 96 saturn when we bought the highlander (now has 165k) I drive the saturn 50 miles a day as a commuter vehicle to save fuel. It has 242k on it. And I also have a 1980 k10 thats my 4wd truck. The odometer says 120k on it but I am not sure how many times it has flipped or how many motors have been in it. O think at least 2. I havent put 10k miles on it in 10 years. I use it when hauling heavy loads or pulling the tractor. It has the 350/350/205 drive train in it. Oh I also have a 1986 s15 jimmy thats parked and needs to be scrapped but it has 200k or more on original motor. Was an off road truck for the farm...stopped running g one day and I never had time to look into it. I think its a fuel pump or electrical issue bit thats as far as I got. The steering fell apart and its basically scrap now. Oh and I was given the father in laws old shop truck from his auto repair biz. It is now my farm/strictly off road truck and it has 250k on it but I know its had the motor rebuilt I think twice and had the trans done twice maybe? Thats all the vehicles I have owned/driven since 16.
