When I went caribou hunting in Alaska in '98, we flew out of King Salmon in Beavers out to where the caribou were migrating. We were overloaded going out and coming back, but these planes did it for us!!! Incredible machines.
That was cool Rottiman. Thanks. I would like to fly in one of those some day. Always thought it would be cool to take off and land in one of those.
It'd seem that you cannot improve too much on perfection................ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Havilland_Canada_DHC-2_Beaver
Took a ride on one of them when the wife and I toured the Alaskan Panhandle. we were going from Ketchikan to PEI on a 'scheduled' flight. As we were getting on the pilot said that someone was sitting next to him or the plane wouldn't be balanced. You know that I jumped into that seat. We made 2 stops at fishing lodges before we got to the town that we were going to. Was quite the experience.
