I never really liked chili either till I made it with northern white beans. Kidneys just overpower all the other flavors for me.

My girlfriend is the same way. Ever had white chicken chili? She likes that better than normal chili. I like it too :D. Real easy to make too, just a mccormick seasoning pack, some chicken, and beans. Maybe some water or broth i don't really remember, but its yummy

No, I haven't but I have a recipe for my slow cooker for it. Had to look up hominy as it is one of the ingredients of the chili recipe. Looks interesting.

bigbarf48 JustWood So I tried making white chicken chili in the slow cooker today. No way can you buy hominy in this area so I just threw in some corn niblets. Here is what it looks like.

I will give it a taste tomorrow for lunch. Right now I am enjoying campinspecter's oatmeal raisin cookies.

We have been eating a lot of coleslaw with cabbage lately. I don't think the chili will be much worse. :picard:

It took a couple of days to get to taste the chicken chili. It didn't look that appealing to me but it tasted good. It wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be so that was even better. My ingredients were chicken thighs, white kidney beans, corn niblets, Taco seasoning, green chilies, cream of mushroom soup - all in the slow cooker for 8 hours.

were you using dark or red kidneys? canned or real beans? how were you cooking your chili, and for how long? it all makes a difference...

Don't matter. My taste buds reject the taste of kidneys as the taste of landfill leachate. BLECHHH !
I will tolerate white beans and pintos = gooder !

Yup. I usually put about 2-3 stalks of celery chopped up small to a whole crock pot of Chilly. Tasty.
