I got the stove cleaned today. I was having breakfast when I heard a grinding noise coming from the stove. The carbon built up in the burnpot and was interfering with the stirrer rod. Thank god it did not crack the bushing or pop the chain. I had 11 bags through it since the last cleaning so It was due. I was just trying to get through this cold snap before I shut it down for cleaning. I still love the pellet heat, all these years of freezing cold winters with a heat pump, I would not give up this stove for nothing even though It has caused me a lot of gray hair lol!

Thanksgiving is coming up, I have five 4 day weekends of snowboarding planned across various resorts across Colorado this winter, my lady wants to learn how to snowboard, my pellet stove is rockin' hard for it's second year and I'm happy as could be :)

I am not sure the correct word, but It is the agitator that runs in the burn pot every 30 minutes to clean it out.

This would NOT be an appropriate comment if it came from me..... but yes, agitator?

I guess my pellet stove does not have one. I have never seen my burn pot stirred except for new pellets falling in.

The agitator on my stove can be set to turn every time the auger does, or every 30 minutes. This is all based on the quality of pellets the stove is burning. It takes and pushes all the ash and such out of the burn pot. In this video you can see how it sits in the burn pot, these guys will have to correct me if i am wrong but I think it is mostly seen on multi fuel stoves.

As a general rule, stir rods are for corn stoves, most pellet stoves do not have one.Hope this helps.

If that unit is a re-brand of the enviro M55 and the like there was a burn pot mod that some of the owners came up with that does a better job of keeping the carbon deposits down, you might want to jog jtakeman's mind to see if it would apply to your situation.

Nope, not auger although some do use an "auger" motor to turn them.

Stir rod and agitator are what they are called and they are usually on multi-fuel devices that burn high ash fuels.

Agitator is also a common name for a good number of us.

Day is starting off ok. No ice. That is number one for me.
Cats caught another mouse and left it in front of my recliner! Think they are looking for treats. That is mouse number 4 this fall.
Got this picture taken at my son's home as the kiks were waiting for the bus. Seems the chickens hang around with the kids until the bus comes.
