A little off topic, but has anyone ever been to Las Vegas in Feb.? It's amusing to say the least.

The locals are wearing down coats and head scarfs, sometimes gloves. It's 60 degrees out.
I looked like an alien in a T-shirt.

I have it is funny, but you get a lot of wind there too
been down to Alabama in the spring a few times also, it is funny there too, 60 degrees their wearing winter coats, came back from there (driving) one time wearing shorts and a tank top. Close to home stopped at a gas station it was snowing and they looked at me like I was nuts

The air is petty dry out there, isn't it? Come here sometime and see how you like it 20 degrees warmer, but with high humidity. It cuts through, right to the bone. Here tonight, wind chill +5, humidity 70%+. :shiver:

:shiver: Tried it once in California, and a few times in Chicago. Thank you for the kind invitation, but only a light breeze cut through me in higher humidity! How about you just send me a postcard?

Yes the air is quite dry here. Currently experimenting with different humidifires to get some moisture in the house :zip: Over 20 gallons in the last 1.5 weeks :bug:

WW, best humidifier I've used was the regular clothes dryer. Just re-route it to vent inside into a lint/water trap. You can get those at Wal-Mart. No mess with fungal build-up in the filters also. Just a thought.

Good advice. savemoney agrees. I am struggling with the dust from a lint/water trap. I was about ready to pull the trigger on a plunger outdoor dryer vent (we had to remove the old outlet and block it last winter, too much cold air and snow in the flex tube). Stinny had a suggestion I think I will try, 5 gal bucket w water instead of this :

Having good cold weather gear is the key.
Covered head to toe, I sometimes feel like " the michelin man"

-30 was our shut down for outside work. Steel gets brittle,
    exposed skin freezes fast.
Never shut equipment off, let it run all night if needed
the next day. Heat packs in coolers to keep drinking water thawed.
Some Oil pipeline repairs & maintenance had to be done thru winter, wet lands
not wet at -10, iceroads , swamps. Etc....
Don't miss it at all :)

No, I'm serious. Anyone that has national grid as their electric supplier may have heard an ad like this.

yooperdave has the exact idea, sorry for the :Yar:.

Ryman Setters look beautiful! We are thinking our next round of dogs will be German wirehairs, our current lovies are already aging. I can help a bit with wings and pop guns (I used to do alot more....) Hopefully our daughter will be old enough to go hunting with hubby, as he has not hunted birds since we lost the brittany. We currently have a nonhungting wirehair vizsla, she is the unlimate home/companion/small child dog, but only hunts from the inside the fence or the inside the window despite 3 promising hunts when she was a baby (she is 7 y/o now). Her fourth hunt was the pic with brittany tipping up azz over tea kettle but determined to bring the large bird back. The young vizsla returned to the trailer despite commands and game everywhere, and refused to leave the steps into the trailer. Turned out she had an ear infection, the brittany was cleaning the evidence, and on my watch, had only left the house a few times, vet appts. Any suggestions on the next hunting/house/companion breeds?

    Thanks!
