I am receiving some great responses to my woodshed vs wood rack outside thread. Thank you. My next questions surround bringing the wood into the house.

    1. How much wood do you store in the house?
    2. How do you bring it in?

I've been doing the same thing for around 10 years now. The wood is just off our back deck which is on the north side of the house. I load the wheelbarrow full of wood to fill up my racks inside. The hoop ring rack takes 3 full wheelbarrow loads and the wood rack I built take 4 full loads. Once a rack is empty, we use the other rack to fuel the fire, and fill the other rack immediately.

    Thank you

The method you describe sounds just fine to me. Is it giving you issues?

Just brought in enough for the overnight load and a few splits for the morning.
Woodshed is a few steps from the front door, so I only keep enough to start the next fire.
Before the woodshed (BW), it was a fight to get the ice and snow off the wood and I kept about 3 times as much inside as I do now.

We wheelbarrow a half cord at a time into the garage; but top it off if there is a cold snap or big storm coming.

Some of my favorite pics Dave.
Keep bringing those back every once in a while so the new folks can see what an ingenious setup you've created.

I park about a cord at a time on the front porch. About 10' from the stove! :D:fire:

My husband stacks splits on our "enclosed" porch, enough for the day so I don't have to go outside to get more. In our old home he would put as much as would fit near the stove, and additional stacks right outside the front door. He brings in armfuls as needed when he's home.

No. The wind blows the snow right past that side of the house

    Thanks

Beautiful stacks Shawn. Im most amazed at how each split in the three cribbed ends are the same height as the other rows. Everything lines up perfectly

I try and keep this wooden crate full. I can get roughly 3-4 loads out of it.
