Hey wildwest ... if you decide to use the 5 gal bucket idea, how about getting some furnace filter material (foam type) to put around the top of the bucket, instead of screening? I'd think it would trap all of the lint while letting the hot air into a room. Maybe use the bucket lid as a way to hold both the vent hose and the filter material, by cutting out holes to fit? Would make it easy to dump the water once in a while too.

Somehow after buckets and buckets from remodeling I dont have a spare lol. I am eyeing some "tote" boxes, like the rubbermaid storage tub. I was also thinking of trying pantyhose instead of screen. At the moment I have the contraption I bought from amazon hooked up, its working better than the one from ace!!

The website seems to be down right now, don't know about the phone #. That thing was called- "Energy Saving Dryer Vent" and it worked quite well. I have a new-in-box one I'll install soon. Wouldn't do squat for humidity inside, but helped keep the cold drafts out. It would stick closed if it was really cold out, but flick it with a glove and it broke free.
