Our 5 gal bottled water on the "enclosed" porch are all froze solid He brought several in last week before the cold, but didn't realize I put the last one in already............ One frozen infront of the woodstove , and another frozen infront of the pellet stove.
When I read the heading to the thread I was picturing a small water bottle like the one I carry most times around home. If it freezes, it goes inside my jacket for a few minutes; long enough to thaw so I can get a drink. Now I'm trying to picture doing that with your bottles. Nope, won't work.
Spent a night in a little A frame camp with our husky, in Feb 2005. Just wanted to do the winter camping thing. No heat, sept for the husky, during the overnight. Woke up inside of 2 sleeping bags on top of 1" styro pad, with a heavy blanket on top. Husky was curled up in a ball. Rolled a heavy blanket like a tire and wrapped it around her. She didn't even notice the cold. I did... ... 12 degrees inside the 8'x8' plywood shack... 20 below outside... Here's where your story wildwest reminded me of this lil adventure... every bit of water, liquids,etc... froze solid except... the few things I had in a small cooler. Good news, porcupines have eaten that shack, so I prolly won't come up with such a genius idea like that again...
Had a few beers freeze in my attached garage last winter during one of the polar vortexes (vortices?). Never had that happen before. Popped the cap right off. Had to drink them that night. Didn't care about the weather by the time I was done
