Probably a scam at that price. I just emailed asking for pics. If'n it's a scammer I'll probably have some fun with them. Will post response.
The ad has been deleted by its author, which isn't typical for scams. As a good a deal as it may have been, it didn't seem impossible to me. I've seen some surprisingly good deals from sellers that seemed irrationally desperate for cash or just unwilling to spend any time marketing something or researching its value. What may be even more irrational is obsessively checking craigslist for great deals... like I do.
If it's an 880 in a box it's a scam. They try to get you to pay with walmart card points - a similar one was posted near me and I came across this Fraud alert http://chattanooga.craigslist.org/tls/4145485709.html
MS 660 for $525 by my house. Pretty new and the guy wants a smaller saw on trade too. . . Hmmmmm...?!?!? Do I need a 660? No!! Do I Want one??? Yep
The nice thing about that price point is that it's real money so the saw doesn't disappear 45 minutes after the ad gets posted, but you know you can recoup the purchase price fairly easily if you need to so it's a low-risk transaction. ...unless you lack the willpower to sell when the time comes.
Thats about what an MS880 sells for. If you're in the market for a new 880, you either: Don't five a flying fornication what it costs, you just want an 880...... Or have a job ahead of you that the saw will be paid for by noon of the first day. 120ccs ( give or take, i think it is actually 121.something) of muscle, not many saws over 100cc like that one still being produced today.....

Yea mysteriously I saw that same 880 inaa ox in my local CL a few weeks ago. Something about the guys son or something and it!?? On "some other site on the web" I have seen these guys also said they have seen the exact same add. Its a scam. The exact pick is all over the net in all diff locations.
A lot like the four wheel and compact tractor adds, none have phone numbers. one method used to collect e-mail address which they then sell to some other spam outfit.
